LATEST BUILDING UPDATE:
January 2025
- You will notice the sidewalk leading to the doors on the north side of the building has been removed! The doors leading to the side parking lot will now be for emergency purposes only. Everyone will need to use the main entrances into the lobby during the construction of the classroom building. For the safety of all, everyone is encouraged to use the sidewalks leading to the lobby as they will remain intact for the foreseeable future.
- The new parking lot can now be used on Sundays and during the week! Once construction is completed, a permanent surface will be applied, but until then it is available for use.
- The remainder of January’s construction activities will be on the classroom building as footings will be dug and poured to allow for the steel structure to be built.
- The staff is in the process of meeting with an interior designer to share their vision for each ministry area. We are excited to create a warm and welcoming environment for all ages!
November 2024
- The detailed drawings for the classroom addition, including renovation of the existing building and the new sanctuary, have been completed (see below).
- We have received formal quotations from the major contractors, providing us with an accurate estimate for the total cost of the project. To get more information on income sources and projected costs, check out the congregational meeting slides.
- The Wilshire building is under contract with Greater Wilmington Church for $2 million. We will close on March 31, 2025.
- Our current focus is to obtain the necessary permits for construction to begin. Although there are several areas to be reviewed, we are hopeful that site preparation will begin before the end of 2024.
